MY THOUGHTS ON THE CREATION OF THIS WEBSITE The idea to create this website came about during conversations over time with other student pilots like myself who would like to gain more experience of flying cross country and to other aerodromes and clubs, without sitting in the left hand seat with an instructor, incurring the Total cost of the trip. I wanted to know if it was possible to build a site that would allow aircraft owners to log in and leave details of any proposed flights they were planning, being short or long and if they would be prepared to offer a spare seat to a student pilot. Not to give instruction in any way just to offer the chance of going along for the experience. I know myself that we students gain a lot just by  watching and listening to experienced pilots, how they plan  and prepare for flights, using the R/T and, getting to know how  to cope with different situations and circumstances, things which  you can only learn by being involved in the "doing". I will try an create an avenue where Pilots can post their flight details, which would include their departure point and destination, date and time, contact and the flight details, it would then be up to any student to log into the site and check what is available in their area and make the first contact call. Personally if this gets off the ground (excuse the pun) I think we can all benefit from participating in making flying accessible to more pilots, which in turn can only be good for the long term interest of flying.
